Garg Residence
This urban residence is designed as a private sanctuary, shielded from the street by a sleek boundary wall that gives way to a welcoming, social courtyard. The architecture is defined by clean geometric forms and deep-set windows that capture the dramatic "golden hour" light, casting long shadows across the beige facade and interior surfaces. Inside, the home balances openness with intimacy; living areas feature textured fluted walls and sprawling window seats to encourage connection, while glass-lined corridors ensure a seamless flow of light. The private quarters are tailored with distinct personalities—ranging from soothing sage greens and warm woods to bold maroon accents—each offering a personal retreat equipped with cozy nooks for reading and rest.
Framing the Light: Modern Living with a Textural Edge
The design narrative for this urban residence was driven by the dual need for privacy and connection. We established a "protective shell" concept, utilizing a solid boundary wall and vertical screening elements to shield the home from the street while opening the interiors up to a welcoming front lawn and courtyard. Light was treated as a primary building material; the architectural massing features deep recesses and textured surfaces designed specifically to catch the low sun, transforming plain beige walls into dynamic canvases of shadow and warmth. Internally, the layout prioritizes flow and individual expression, connecting communal zones via a glass-lined circulation spine while giving each private room a distinct identity through bold color blocking—from calming sage to energetic maroon—and functional, built-in niches.
