This apartment renovation transforms a standard urban footprint into a warm, personalized sanctuary that celebrates its connection to the outdoors. The design language is defined by a clean neutral palette punctuated by bold architectural interventions—most notably the deep terracotta window reveals that act as picture frames for the lush neighborhood greenery. The layout emphasizes flow and utility; a semi-open dark wood archway connects the kitchen to the living zones, while custom joinery, such as the white display cabinet and window seat storage, maximizes functionality without cluttering the space.
Color & Connection: Transforming an Apartment with Bold Accents
The central concept for this project was "Framing Views." We wanted to draw the lush exterior tree canopy into the home, so we treated the windows as deep, habitable thresholds rather than simple 2D openings. By painting the deep reveals in a warm terracotta ochre, we created a striking contrast against the white walls, effectively turning every window into a living painting. Spatially, we focused on "functional nooks"; structural recesses were converted into productive study corners with integrated seating and storage, ensuring that every square foot served a purpose. The material palette balances this bold color use with calming elements like beige upholstery, marble coffee tables, and natural wood finishes to maintain a serene domestic atmosphere.
